Arizona Biltmore Resort: Oasis Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright

Good thing that Frank Lloyd Wright knew how to build hotels in the desert. With temps in the triple digits today, the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa is a shady respite for the sun-soaked shopper. After shopping and lunch at TRUE FOOD at the Biltmore Fashion Park, the girls arrived at the Arizona Biltmore Resort.

The cool inner sanctum of the main lobby/reception area opens up to understated elegance. Wright always liked to compress the space at a the building’s entrance area, and then open it wide in the main living space. The effect always opens my heart, and I enjoy the soaring feeling every time a walk into a FLW-designed space. The coolness of the interior is refreshing as I reach what could almost be called the inner sanctum: a historic resort hotel known to host Presidents, movie stars, Frank Sinatra and UNSTOPPABLE Stacey.

Did I mention Frank Sinatra?

Today I can’t stop exploring the world (I blame it on my father’s Viking blood) and write about my adventures – many as a solo woman traveler. Life isn’t always rosy; I lost my firecracker reasoning skill to head injury in a horrific rollover accident that should have taken my life. Brain injury hasn’t stopped me from traveling, although it sometimes makes for amusing travel antidotes that I hope you will enjoy. That’s why they call me “UNSTOPPABLE!”
