Mountain Town. Mountain Beer.

Flagstaff’s San Francisco Peaks stand at over 12,000 feet (3657.6 meters) above sea level to deliver pure, mountain water, one ingredient of thirst-quenching Flagstaff beer | Discover Flagstaff photo

Most of my friends from around the world are shocked when I tell them I just got 36-inches of snow at my house. They don’t realize that Flagstaff is a mountain town with an elevation of 6,910 feet (2,106.2 meters) above sea level. That’s higher than the Mile High City of Denver!

That means that we have mountain, snow-fed waters that are perfect for creating fresh-tasting beer. Our delicious Flagstaff water is just one of the reasons for our award-winning, high-altitude suds. Flagstaff brewers pour their hearts into the ales they create here in this mountain town. The awards that they’ve been bringing home since the 1990s prove it!

They produce an enchanting beer brittle that is perfect for Arizona Beer Week and Valentine’s Month. I can’t get enough of this candy, and neither will your sweetie. My brittle was fashioned with Lumberyard beer.

  2. I am amazed to hear that speaking in public is one of your worst fears. You did an incredible job of hiding that fear when you went to Tanzania with me and led workshops using a translator, no less. You are a brave womanb!

    • Thanks for the encouragement, Valorie! You trained me well for the public speaking in Tanzania – I felt totally comfortable with the materials I presented. Thanks for reminding me of that!
