President Obama is scheduled to speak tomorrow in Mesa, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix. Rumors have it that he will be spending the night at The InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa near Camelback Mountain.
The President should be well rested as all the beds and mattresses at the elegant, luxury resort were custom-made to exacting specifications. Baptized “Divine Beds,” they are dressed in Egyptian-cotton sheets and fabrics designed with the soulful colors of a Moroccan sunset.
Montelucia’s Managing Director, Valeriano Antonioli shared with me on a press trip recently that he personally tested the mattresses…and had them stacked up in his garage during the experimentation process.
UNSTOPPABLE Stacey found the bed to be exceeding comfortable. “What bed?” she asked after a wakeless night at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa. “The best bed is the one that you don’t realize is there,” she pontificated.
When the President stands to address the Mesa crowd tomorrow morning, and someone asks: “But, are you an expert on the Economic Stimulus Package?” he may say, “No, but I did sleep at a InterContinental Montelucia Resort last night.”
The hotel is currently under the Omni brand as the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia.
